This word is mainly for those who have been Christians For a while. When we first got said we prayed more prayers for the focus of God meeting our needs. This is a good thing. God wants us to call on him.

As children we grow and learn to trust our heavenly father through his mercy, grace, compassion, provision,And so much more.

It Start With building our house, our lives, and our daily walk on the rock.

As in Matthew7:24-27 there are storms in life that come But we are saved pray and cry out to our rock (Jesus save us) who comes and meets our needs and keeps us study in the midst of the storm. The rain comes, the Floods come, The wind blows, and we stand strong knowing our Lord and Savior will never leave us nor forsake us.

Jesus calls and asks us to come to him and he will give us rest. Matthew 11:28-30. Come to him and call unto him and he will give you rest and make your burden light. This is the way of rest and in our lives in the mist of all The uneasy things in life.

Vs. 29 Says learn of me… We seek him and we learned that he is merciful, kind, caring, and so much more. He wants you to know him and how he cares for you.

Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.

1 Peter 5:7

Matthew 14:24-33

The ship was now in the midst of the sea, tossed with waves… (Beyond human capacity to do anything about the storm) BUT JESUS says “ Be of good cheer, it is I, be not afraid” The storms sometimes get bigger than we can ever imagine and out of control. But add the season of impossible times Jesus as in vs 29 days “come”, come where he is at, trust him he will provide provision to walk… Jesus was not offended by Peter’s fear- Jesus caught him and did not let him drown. Peter cried onto him, Lord save me & immediately Jesus stretched forth His hand and caught him.

Pastor Carter Conlon talk about Living for the benefit of others. As we grow in the Lord there comes a point of overflow in our lives that turns the focus from our needs being met to helping others knowing Christ and being a distributor of hope to others and meeting their needs through the overflow of God‘s provision to us.

The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

John 10:10

AMP – I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance [to the full, till it overflows].

Matthew Henry: Christ came to give life, something more, something better, life with advantage, life in abundance is eternal life, life without death or fear of death, Live and Much more.

2Cor. 9:8-11 God’s Grace is overflowing in your life so you can be a blessing to others.

And may the Lord cause you to increase and excel and overflow in love for one another, and for all people, just as we also do for you;

1 Thessalonians 3:12

Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk.

Acts 3:6

Peter gave away his overflow. Whether you have silver or gold is not the point. We are too live in the overflow and abundant life we have been given.

You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You have anointed and refreshed my head with oil; My cup overflows (runs over) Surely goodness and mercy and unfailing love shall follow me all the days of my life, And I shall dwell forever [throughout all my days] in the house and in the presence of the Lord.

Psalm 23:5-6

I have more than enough for my needs and it overflows to others!

Yes God wants to meet our needs and wants us to live a life of full. But the real blessing comes when we moved beyond compassion and provision of God in our lives and allow God to direct and move us to lay down our lives to share what God has given us to others.  With the help of the Holy Spirit we can reach out to those who have been sat in our lives and be that witness. We share Jesus, the love of God, his mercy, his provisions, and so much more.

Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God.

2 Corinthians 1:4

We know and have learned our heavenly father is our provider, our deliver, he has forgiven us and has brought us through many trials and tribulations. Now he wants us to be ambassadors of his grace. Distributors of his love, mercy, grace, and so much more.

2 Cor. 5:17-18 ministers of reconciliation.

Pastor Carter Conlon:

Paul and Silas found themselves in an inner prison, yet they chose to pray and worship (see Acts 16:25). Suddenly, there was a great earthquake that shook the prison’s foundations. All the prison doors were opened, and everyone’s bands were loosed!

We can be sure that Paul and Silas were not simply praying, “Forgive us for our sins and give us our daily bread.” No! I believe they were crying out, “God, it’s midnight, and there is a need here that is much greater than we can handle. Friends have been set before us, and these friends are in prison-shackled and hopeless. You have entrusted us with this inner prison, so now You must give us the strength to make a difference. Put something within us that will cause heaven to move and hell to shake!”

How did God respond to their prayer? He put a song inside of them! As they began to worship God for answering the cry of their hearts, for the privilege of being thrust into that place of despair along with those who had no helper, suddenly everything began to shake and miracles started to happen! Even the Philippian jailor and his entire household surrendered their lives to Jesus!

This is living in the overflow.

Life changes from all about us to sharing and looking out for others. This does not mean we don’t pray for ourselves and our needs but we have that full assurance that our God is faithful and hears us.

Now we can live in The overflow and ask God for courage, compassion, and power to stop living for ourselves and start living for the benefit of others.

Let the love of God over flow to those around you. Share Jesus and see him change a life. Share compassion as he has compassion on you. Share the provisions that you have received that those around you will glorify God. Pray for boldness and open doors for God to allow you to go from Lord help me to, “Lord bring someone in my life today so I can share the abundant life you have given me”. You will start looking for opportunities to live out the overflow and see how much you have been blessed too.

There are so many life voices in the world today. It seems that everybody has an opinion and their opinion is right. We have so many voices that are saying things daily and even minute by minute. We have TV, blogs, podcasts, videos, all kinds of social media, work, friends, family, and so much more biding for our attention and our soul.

All of them want to influence us to be just like them. They want to Influence Us to base our decisions, our actions, and everything we do on what they say about us and our lives.

Influence is the capacity or power of persons or things to be a compelling force on or produce effects on the actions, behavior, opinions, etc., of others:

A compelling force is in the world today. One that leads astray many to destruction, depression, & despair.

BUT GOD says:

Blessed [fortunate, prosperous, and favored by God] is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked [following their advice and example], Nor stand in the path of sinners, Nor sit [down to rest] in the seat of scoffers (ridiculers). But his delight is in the law of the Lord, And on His law [His precepts and teachings] he [habitually] meditates day and night.

Psalm 1:1-2

That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;

Ephesians 4:14

In today’s culture many say you figure it out, you are the boss, do your own thing, and make your own decisions.

But God says: I will direct your paths & steps.

Trust in and rely confidently on the Lord with all your heart And do not rely on your own insight or understanding. In all your ways know and acknowledge and recognize Him, And He will make your paths straight and smooth [removing obstacles that block your way].

Proverbs 3:5-6

He gives us wisdom, direction, guidance, & so much more.

The enemy said: you’re too tired…

God says: I will give your rest & peace.

Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

Matthew 11:28-30

Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

John 14:27

The enemy says: It is impossible.

But God says:

The things which are impossible with men are possible with God.

Luke 18:27

The enemy says: nobody loves you and you are alone.

God says:

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

John 3:16

I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.

Hebrews 13:5-6

The enemy says: you can’t do it.

God says: I can do all things through Christ… Phil. 4:13

The enemy says: you are a failure.

God says: you are more than a conqueror…

Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Romans 8:37-39

The enemy says: you are rejected.

God says:  you are accepted and chosen.

According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love: To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved.

Ephesians 1:4,6

The enemy says: no body likes you.

God says: you are the apple of my eye. Psalm 17:8 & I love you with an everlasting love.

I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee.

Jeremiah 31:3

The enemy says: nobody cares for you.

God says: Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.

1 Peter 5:7

The enemy says: you are a victim.

God says: you are victorious.

But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

1 Corinthians 15:57

Psalm 98:1

Blessed and greatly favored is the man whose strength is in You, In whose heart are the highways to Zion. They go from strength to strength [increasing in victorious power]; Each of them appears before God in Zion. For the Lord God is a sun and shield; The Lord bestows grace and favor and honor; No good thing will He withhold from those who walk uprightly. O Lord of hosts, How blessed and greatly favored is the man who trusts in You [believing in You, relying on You, and committing himself to You with confident hope and expectation].

Psalm 84:5,7,11-12

God says:

I will supply all your needs. Phil 4:19

My Grace is sufficient. 2Cor. 12:9

I forgive you. Rom. 8:1, 1 John 1:9, 1 John 2:12, Col. 1:14

The enemy says: it is not worth it.

God says: it will be worth it all.

And we know [with great confidence] that God [who is deeply concerned about us] causes all things to work together [as a plan] for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to His plan and purpose. What then shall we say to all these things? If God is for us, who can be [successful] against us? He who did not spare [even] His own Son, but gave Him up for us all, how will He not also, along with Him, graciously give us all things?

Romans 8:28,31-32

Hear His voice today. Be still and know…

Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth. The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah.

Psalm 46:10-11

Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.

Revelation 3:20

He is calling unto you today. He desires fellowship with you. Hear His voice today. Quiet the enemy, the flesh, & the world that comes in with many voices. Surrender your life to Him today.

The enemy starts by giving us fear of our tomorrows. God wants us to trust Him with our tomorrows. He wants us to depend on Him and know that He has our back.

Matthew 6:31-34

31 Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?

32 (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.

33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

34 Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.

The enemy will cause us to have despair about tomorrow and what might happen. With all the crazy things going on in this world, he uses what we see and hear and tells us all these things will come upon us. For this reason many have lost hope, have anxiety and are in deep depression.  Anxiety is of the future and of the unknown.

Matthew Henry:

That thoughtfulness for the morrow is one of those foolish and hurtful lusts, which those that will be rich fall into, and one of the many sorrows, wherewith they pierce themselves through. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof. This present day has trouble enough attending it, we need not accumulate burdens by anticipating our trouble, nor borrow perplexities from to-morrow’s evils to add to those of this day. It is uncertain what to-morrow’s evils may be, but whatever they be, it is time enough to take thought about them when they come.

The enemy wants us to focus on the What if….

What if the economy goes under?

What if I don’t have a job?

What is going to happen to my children?

What if I can’t pay my mortgage?

What if I get sick?

God wants us to not be worried about tomorrow. He doesn’t want us to borrow what may or may not happen tomorrow and bring it in today.

Matthew Henry:

That thoughtfulness for the morrow is needless; Let the morrow take thought for the things of itself. If wants and troubles be renewed with the day, there are aids and provisions renewed likewise; compassions, that are new every morning, Lam. 3:22, 23. The saints have a Friend that is their arm every morning, and gives out fresh supplies daily (Isa. 33:2), according as the business of every day requires (Ezra 3:4), and so he keeps his people in constant dependence upon him. Let us refer it therefore to the morrow’s strength, to do the morrow’s work, and bear the morrow’s burthen.

This does not mean that we don’t make plans and prepare for our future. We need to live today. Mind the things of today. Trust God for this very moment. Do the work of today and let tomorrow come and become today.

We have an easier time giving God our past and not our future. We take our past to the Cross and are so glad that He has forgiving our past sin. But we are not quick to give Him our future. We make plans and ask Him to bless them. The enemy causes fear, uncertainty, and makes us focus on the what ifs of life.

Instead of saying what if, Say God is….

God is my provider, my deliverer

God is my Help – Psalms 54:4

God is my Rock, My Refuge, My salvation, – Psalms 62:7-8

Your Father knows what you have need of:

Matthew 6:8

Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him.

Luke 12:27

Consider the lilies how they grow: they toil not, they spin not; and yet I say unto you, that Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.

Luke 12:6-7

Are not five sparrows sold for two farthings, and not one of them is forgotten before God?

But even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not therefore: ye are of more value than many sparrows.

God will supply your needs. God is faithful. In time of suffering and pain He will never leave you or forsake you. Psalms 27:9, Hebrews 13:5

We don’t want to be ignorant of the future. He wants us to trust Him and know He will bring us through what ever tomorrow may bring. He will do what is best for us, even if we do not understand. God will give us grace through it all. He will take you through what ever tomorrow may bring. If we focus on tomorrow we will miss all the miracles and joys of today. He has good thoughts of you. He has good plans for you. He has grace sufficient for you.

Psalm 34:8

O taste and see that the Lord is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him.

Romans 8:28

And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

Jeremiah 29:11

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

His love is more powerful than the enemies lies. Trust him today!!! Know Him today!!! Today is the day of salvation. Today we are to seek Him. Today is the life we live.

Today is my birthday and I seen this scripture (Psalm 119:133) and it is my prayer today. I don’t want my human weakness to ever have power over me. I don’t want to give into that weakness in my own strength. That will for sure separate me from God. When I rely on my own strength my weakness comes forth and causes me to sin.

John 15: without Him I can do nothing… I need to depend on the Grace of the Mediator – Jesus Christ- for I live, move, and have my being in Him. I can do nothing towards Justification or Sanctification in myself.

Psalm 119:133  (AMP)

Establish my footsteps in [the way of] Your word;

Do not let any human weakness have power over me [causing me to be separated from You].

Matthew Henry:

Here David prays for two great spiritual blessings, and is, in this verse, as earnest for the good work of God in him as, in the verse before, for the good-will of God towards him. He prays, 1. For direction in the paths of duty: “Order my steps in thy word; having led me into the right way, let every step I take in that way be under the guidance of thy grace.” We ought to walk by rule; all the motions of the soul must not only be kept within the bounds prescribed by the word, so as not to transgress them, but carried out in the paths prescribed by the word, so as not to trifle in them. And therefore we must beg of God that by his good Spirit he would order our steps accordingly. 2. For deliverance from the power of sin: “Let no iniquity have dominion over me, so as to gain my consent to it, and that I should be led captive by it.” The dominion of sin is to be dreaded and deprecated by every one of us; and, if in sincerity we pray against it, we may receive that promise as an answer to the prayer (Rom. 6:14), Sin shall not have dominion over you.

Good news He started the work in me and will continue it!

Philippians 1:6  (KJV)

Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:

Matthew Henry:

Observe here, (1.) The work of grace is a good work, a blessed work; for it makes us good, and is an earnest of good to us. It makes us like God, and fits us for the enjoyment of God. That may well be called a good work which does us the greatest good. (2.) Wherever this good work is begun it is of God’s beginning: He has begun a good work in you. We could not begin it ourselves, for we are by nature dead in trespasses and sins: and what can dead men do towards raising themselves to life; or how can they begin to act till they are enlivened in the same respect in which they are said to be dead? It is God who quickens those who are thus dead, Eph. 2:1; Col. 2:13. (3.) The work of grace is but begun in this life; it is not finished here; as long as we are in this imperfect state there is something more to be done. (4.) If the same God who begins the good work did not undertake the carrying on and finishing of it, it would lie for ever unfinished. He must perform it who began it. (5.) We may be confident, or well persuaded, that God not only will not forsake, but that he will finish and crown the work of his own hands. For, as for God, his work is perfect. (6.) The work of grace will never be perfected till the day of Jesus Christ, the day of his appearance. When he shall come to judge the world, and finish his mediation, then this work will be complete, and the top-stone will be brought forth with shouting. We have the same expression, Phil. 1:10.

He began the work in me. I didn’t love Him first. While I was still in sin, Rom. 5:8 He clearly shows and proved His love for me, Christ died for me! This work of Grace is beyond what this world can understand. By nature we are dead in our sins and dead men can’t raise themselves. He raised me in newness of life. He started this work of Grace and will keep working that Grace in me until Jesus comes or I go home to be with Him.

This is my favorite verse:

Lamentations 3:22-24 Amplified Bible (AMP)

It is because of the Lord’s loving-kindnesses that we are not consumed,

Because His [tender] compassions never fail.

They are new every morning;

Great and beyond measure is Your faithfulness.

“The Lord is my portion and my inheritance,” says my soul;

“Therefore I have hope in Him and wait expectantly for Him.”

Every morning we can wake up new. We do not have to bring yesterday into today. We can live today without condemnation. We can ask for forgiveness and He is faithful and just to forgive us. (1 john 1:9) God is faithful and will not leave us nor forsake us.

Hebrews 13:5  (AMP)

Let your character [your moral essence, your inner nature] be free from the love of money [shun greed—be financially ethical], being content with what you have; for He has said, “I will never [under any circumstances] desert you [nor give you up nor leave you without support, nor will I in any degree leave you helpless], nor will I forsake or let you down or relax My hold on you [assuredly not]!”

I am thankful for my life. It has been a full life since I came to know Jesus as my Savior. My prayer is those who meet me will come to know Him too.

In our lives there are people who are are mentors or people who we look up to. People who have lived a life that we want to live up to. Examples in the Bible of an individual that walks by faith and lives what he believes.

In Acts 10 there is a certain man. A man that stands out in his class of people. Cornelius was an officer of the army of considerable rank and figure, a centurion. This is important because this man was a Gentile. At that time to share the true Gospel with anyone else but a Jew was unheard of. This was a mystery and surprise to the apostles.

Acts 10:1 There was a certain man in Caesarea called Cornelius, a centurion of the band called the Italian band…

I love that he was of the band called The Italian Band. Part of my family are Italian. I am so thankful that God allowed the Gospel to be preached to Cornelius and those like me.

He was a devout man. He had very good character. Not an idolater, not a worshipper of false gods or images. Nor did he allow himself in any of those immoralities to which the greater part of the gentile world was given up to. He made a decision to serve God. He surrender to God’s will & ways. His mind, will, actions, & emotions surrendered and was devoted to God.

He feared God. Not fearful, but revered God. Looks to Him & His sovereignty, surrenders to His ways in awe. Received instructions willingly, faithfully and his priority is to have a relationship with God. Not only did he fear God but brought his household in to that same relationship. His life touched all those that were around him. He made a difference in their lives because of the way he lived his.

Proverbs 1:7 (AMP)

The [reverent] fear of the Lord [that is, worshiping Him and regarding Him as truly awesome] is the beginning and the preeminent part of knowledge [its starting point and its essence];

But arrogant [a]fools despise [skillful and godly] wisdom and instruction and self-discipline.

He was a very charitable man, He Gave Much… Matt. 6:1-3 Do unto God, 2 Cor. 9:6 Sow bountifully, 2 Cor 9:7 be a cheerful giver.

Matthew Henry: Wherever the fear of God rules in the hear, it will appear both in the works of charity and of piety, and neither will excuse us from the other.

He was much in Prayer. Why pray – The sovereignty of God – He is supreme. 2 Pet 3:9 He is not slack, He is long-suffering, & God changes not. God’s character should cause us to pray. He is compassionate, long-suffering, loving, merciful, good, tender, gracious are just a few of God’s characters that causes us to pray and believe Him as Cornelius did.

Wherever the fear of God rules in the heart, charity, prayer, etc… will prevail in a persons life as it did in Cornelius. His prayers and alms went up to God as a memorial to him.

1 Peter 2:12(AMP)

Keep your behavior excellent among the [unsaved] Gentiles [conduct yourself honorably, with graciousness and integrity], so that for whatever reason they may slander you as evildoers, yet by observing your good deeds they may [instead come to] glorify God in the day of visitation [when He looks upon them with mercy].

He had a good reputation. It’s not easy to get a good reputation & to keep it. There is always someone who doesn’t like what you do & who you are. HCSB – He had a good reputation with the whole Jewish nation. They would vouch for him.

I love the Newsboys song, Cornelius: (this is pieces of the song)

“Cornelius”

And every generation’s got

The fearless few who can’t be bought

They don’t take polls or look around

They act on truth, and then they stand their ground

Cornelius

Core-strong like a centurion

I wanna be Cornelius

Core-strong like a centurion

I wanna be Cornelius

His kneel is real

His kneel is real

My prayer is that we all would walk out our lives with the same dedication to God as Cornelius. That we would be real in a world that thrives on being fake. They do everything to cover up who they really are. Let’s be people of prayer, of good character, fear God, and walk in the truth God has revealed to us.

So many of us have felt lack in our lives. We have felt we are not good enough. Mainly because we focus on our weaknesses and what we used to be. We focus on others and what they have or what they have accomplished that we have not.

If I were the devil I would Tell you:

You are not good enough

You are not special like others

You are not going to get answered prayers like others

You are not smart enough

You are not going to have favor with God anymore

You are not blessed like others

You are not going to get over your past

You are not going to have a future

You are not going to have hope

You are not going to have everything God has for you

He is under the curse and he wants you to share in that curse. He is a lier and the father of it. (John 8:44)

We complain and then we get overwhelmed. Then when we get overwhelmed we lose spiritual vision. When we lose spiritual vision we start to agree with the devil. (Pastor Carter Conlon)

The enemy will point out all of your failures, all the areas you have fallen short, & he will get you so focused on all things that are NOT.

He will do everything to get you to agree with him. Don’t agree with your enemy. God doesn’t agree with him. He has provided a way to be free of the voices of the enemy. It is time to start agreeing with God and not the devil. You are not washed up. Because of what Jesus did at the Cross we are not what we used to be. We do have a future and a hope.

Philippians 4:8 King James Version (KJV)

Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

Here are just a few things to meditate on:
