Today is my birthday and I seen this scripture (Psalm 119:133) and it is my prayer today. I don’t want my human weakness to ever have power over me. I don’t want to give into that weakness in my own strength. That will for sure separate me from God. When I rely on my own strength my weakness comes forth and causes me to sin.

John 15: without Him I can do nothing… I need to depend on the Grace of the Mediator – Jesus Christ- for I live, move, and have my being in Him. I can do nothing towards Justification or Sanctification in myself.

Psalm 119:133  (AMP)

Establish my footsteps in [the way of] Your word;

Do not let any human weakness have power over me [causing me to be separated from You].

Matthew Henry:

Here David prays for two great spiritual blessings, and is, in this verse, as earnest for the good work of God in him as, in the verse before, for the good-will of God towards him. He prays, 1. For direction in the paths of duty: “Order my steps in thy word; having led me into the right way, let every step I take in that way be under the guidance of thy grace.” We ought to walk by rule; all the motions of the soul must not only be kept within the bounds prescribed by the word, so as not to transgress them, but carried out in the paths prescribed by the word, so as not to trifle in them. And therefore we must beg of God that by his good Spirit he would order our steps accordingly. 2. For deliverance from the power of sin: “Let no iniquity have dominion over me, so as to gain my consent to it, and that I should be led captive by it.” The dominion of sin is to be dreaded and deprecated by every one of us; and, if in sincerity we pray against it, we may receive that promise as an answer to the prayer (Rom. 6:14), Sin shall not have dominion over you.

Good news He started the work in me and will continue it!

Philippians 1:6  (KJV)

Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:

Matthew Henry:

Observe here, (1.) The work of grace is a good work, a blessed work; for it makes us good, and is an earnest of good to us. It makes us like God, and fits us for the enjoyment of God. That may well be called a good work which does us the greatest good. (2.) Wherever this good work is begun it is of God’s beginning: He has begun a good work in you. We could not begin it ourselves, for we are by nature dead in trespasses and sins: and what can dead men do towards raising themselves to life; or how can they begin to act till they are enlivened in the same respect in which they are said to be dead? It is God who quickens those who are thus dead, Eph. 2:1; Col. 2:13. (3.) The work of grace is but begun in this life; it is not finished here; as long as we are in this imperfect state there is something more to be done. (4.) If the same God who begins the good work did not undertake the carrying on and finishing of it, it would lie for ever unfinished. He must perform it who began it. (5.) We may be confident, or well persuaded, that God not only will not forsake, but that he will finish and crown the work of his own hands. For, as for God, his work is perfect. (6.) The work of grace will never be perfected till the day of Jesus Christ, the day of his appearance. When he shall come to judge the world, and finish his mediation, then this work will be complete, and the top-stone will be brought forth with shouting. We have the same expression, Phil. 1:10.

He began the work in me. I didn’t love Him first. While I was still in sin, Rom. 5:8 He clearly shows and proved His love for me, Christ died for me! This work of Grace is beyond what this world can understand. By nature we are dead in our sins and dead men can’t raise themselves. He raised me in newness of life. He started this work of Grace and will keep working that Grace in me until Jesus comes or I go home to be with Him.

This is my favorite verse:

Lamentations 3:22-24 Amplified Bible (AMP)

It is because of the Lord’s loving-kindnesses that we are not consumed,

Because His [tender] compassions never fail.

They are new every morning;

Great and beyond measure is Your faithfulness.

“The Lord is my portion and my inheritance,” says my soul;

“Therefore I have hope in Him and wait expectantly for Him.”

Every morning we can wake up new. We do not have to bring yesterday into today. We can live today without condemnation. We can ask for forgiveness and He is faithful and just to forgive us. (1 john 1:9) God is faithful and will not leave us nor forsake us.

Hebrews 13:5  (AMP)

Let your character [your moral essence, your inner nature] be free from the love of money [shun greed—be financially ethical], being content with what you have; for He has said, “I will never [under any circumstances] desert you [nor give you up nor leave you without support, nor will I in any degree leave you helpless], nor will I forsake or let you down or relax My hold on you [assuredly not]!”

I am thankful for my life. It has been a full life since I came to know Jesus as my Savior. My prayer is those who meet me will come to know Him too.

Transformed Life (title)

2 Corinthians 5:17 (KJV)

Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

This transformation happens in one moment and is a process that takes a lifetime.

As one surrenders their life to God through what Jesus did at the Cross they are changed, they are transformed, & they are made new.

(YOU WERE ONCE) You were slaves, you were disobedience and rebellious towards God, You lived & conducted yourself according to your passions of your flesh. You were afar off. You lived in your addictions. You were not a people.

(NOW YOU ARE) Now you are made near, now you are a child of God, now you walk in newness of life, now you washed. & are cleansed, now you are obedient, now you are free…

(YOU WILL BE) 1 Corinthians 15:52 (AMP) in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at [the sound of] the last trumpet call. For a trumpet will sound, and the dead [who believed in Christ] will be raised imperishable, and we will be [completely] changed [wondrously transformed].

That is a transformed life… You were – Passed…. Now you are – Present… You will be – Future…

Romans 6:17(AMP)

But thank God, though you were once slaves of sin, you have become obedient with all your heart to the standard of teaching in which you were instructed and to which you were committed.

Romans 11:30

Just as you were once disobedient and rebellious toward God but now have obtained [His] mercy, through their disobedience,

1 Corinthians 6:11

And such some of you were [once]. But you were washed clean (purified by a complete atonement for sin and made free from the guilt of sin), and you were consecrated (set apart, hallowed), and you were justified [pronounced righteous, by trusting] in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and in the [Holy] Spirit of our God.

Ephesians 2:3

Among these we as well as you once lived and conducted ourselves in the passions of our flesh [our behavior governed by our corrupt and sensual nature], obeying the impulses of the flesh and the thoughts of the mind [our cravings dictated by our senses and our dark imaginings]. We were then by nature children of [God’s] wrath and heirs of [His] indignation, like the rest of mankind.

Ephesians 2:13

But now in Christ Jesus, you who once were [so] far away, through (by, in) the blood of Christ have been brought near.

Ephesians 5:8

For once you were darkness, but now you are light in the Lord; walk as children of Light [lead the lives of those native-born to the Light].

Colossians 3:7

Among whom you also once walked, when you were living in and addicted to [such practices].

1 Peter 2:10

Once you were not a people [at all], but now you are God’s people; once you were unpitied, but now you are pitied and have received mercy.

This transformation is like a caterpillar and the metamorphosis that takes place from one form to another.

“Christians are to undergo a complete change, under the power of God, which will find expression in our character & conduct.”(Vines)

Matthew Henry – And so great is the change the grace of God makes in the soul, that, as it follows, old things are passed away—old thoughts, old principles, and old practices, are passed away; and all these things must become new. Note, Regenerating grace creates a new world in the soul; all things are new. The renewed man acts from new principles, by new rules, with new ends, and in new company.

This transformation is something we allow to be done in us, not something we do by our own power. We submit to The Holy Spirit as He changes us from the inside out. He performs the work and we walk out the results.

You have been changed, you are being changed, & you will be changed…. You have been changed by the sacrifice of Jesus on The Cross. You are being changed as the Holy Spirit works in you. And one day you will be changed from this life to the next.

Father we surrender to you today. Make us new. Change us and transform us to the person you want us to be. Help us to remember that it is the work of The Holy Spirit in us and as we surrender to Him our lives will reflect that change on the outside as we walk and as we talk.  It is your Grace that draws us to you and your compassion that moves in our lives. Thank you Lord that you don’t leave us the way you found us.

2 Tim 2:3-4 Take your share of hardships and suffering [which you are called to endure] as a good (first-class) soldier of Christ Jesus. No soldier when in service gets ENTANGLED in the enterprises of [civilian] life; his aim is to satisfy & please the one who enlisted him.

Gal. 5:1 In this freedom Christ has made us free [and completely liberated us]: stand fast then, & don’t be entangled (or hampered & held ensnared & submit again to a yoke of slavery [which you have once put off]

We are not to have a relationship with this world & it’s system. The Bible talks a lot about this. Be not unequally yoked, the children of light have not fellowship with the children of darkness, & much more.

We are in this world, but we are not of this world. When you are entangled with this world, you are in bondage to it. When you are entangled with something, you can not move without it affecting you. You are tied to it you are in bondage to it. It has total influence over you & what you do. How can we do the work of the Lord, when the burdens & cares of this world are upon us.

To be entangled is to be entwined, involved with, entangle self with a fixed position (in place, time, state), both inwardly & outwardly) ensnared.

When I think of entangled. I don’t think of doing our regular job or talking to unbelievers, or going to a ball game. Entangled to me means someone is so involved with the world (or people of this world) that it clouds their judgment & their actions are those of a confused person. We are so tied to someone or something, that we can’t move without that thing or person changing the way we would do or the way we should be. God wants us to be free to be with Him. He wants us to be free to serve Him without being hindered. Even when I think of that I think of Paul when he says in 1 Cor. 10:23 All things are legitimate [permissible – and we are free to do anything to do anything we please], BUT not all things are helpful expedient, profitable and wholesome). All things are legitimate, but now all things are constructive [to character] and edifying [to spiritual life]

The life application bible say this: Some people think worldliness is limited to external behavior – the people we associate with, the places we go, the activities we enjoy. Wordiness is also internal, for it begins in the heart. It is characterized by these attitudes, 1)lust of the flesh-preoccupation with gratifying physical desires 2) materialism (list of the eyes) – craving and accumulation things; and 3) pride of life – obsession with one’s status or importance. By contrast, God values self-control, a spirit of generosity, and humble service. It is possible to give the impression of avoiding “worldly pleasures” while still harboring worldly attitudes in one’s heart. What values are most important to you? Do your actions reflect the world’s values or God’s values?

You can be entangled with someone or something, even if the outward man or circumstances do not reflect it. What is in your HEART?

There is nothing wrong with wanting a pleasurable life. God gives us good gifts that he wants us to enjoy. (James 1;17; Eph. 4:7, 1 Tim. 4:4,5) However Friendship with the world is seeking pleasure at others’ expense or at the expense of obeying God. Pleasure that keeps us from pleasing God is sinful; pleasure in God’s rich bounty is good.

We must keep are hearts on God and what he has for us. Do not look to the world and its system. And do not let people of this world drag you into their world. This worlds system is going down and God wants us to go up with Him.

Rev. 18: 9-10 Those who are tied to the worlds system will lose everything.

When we focus so much on what we have when the world system falls, we will fall too. So be not entangled with anyone or anything BUT GOD! Be free to be what God wants you to be. Look at your daily walk, who are you with, what are you doing, what has you tied to it??? Do not be entangle to it. Look to Jesus as your source of Life and you will stay free!!! Be free in HIM!!!
