Only Believe…

Now a days our minds are so full of so many things that we are not sure what to believe. Listening to the news, watching TV, hearing what others are saying, and so much more. All these things can steal our focus off who we should know and believe in.

We even look to ourselves for the answers. We trust ourselves more and more each day.

One of the things that come in trusting and believing what we hear is fear. Fear of the unknown, fear of failure, fear that the circumstances in our lives will not go away or that they will not turn out the way we want them to.

Fear can freeze you in your circumstances. You can’t move forward when fear comes in. Fear blinds you from what God is doing in you and for you.

Mark 5:36

… Be not afraid, only believe.

 Mark 5:36

Amplified Bible (AMP)

Do not be seized with alarm and struck with fear; only keep on believing.

 Luke 8:50

… Fear not: believe only

ANDREW MURRAY – “Jesus, I believe in Thy glory; I believe in Thine omnipotence; I believe in Thy power working within me. I believe in Thy living, loving presence with me, revealing itself in Divine power.”

Do not be occupied with feelings or experiences. You will find it far simpler and easier just to trust and say, “I am sure He is all for me.” Get rid of yourself for the time”

“don’t think or speak about yourself; but

Think what Jesus is.

And then remember it is believe always”

I like when he said “Do not be occupied with feelings or experiences.”

This is so true, the more we occupy our thoughts, our days, and our lives with what we feel or the things we experience, the more fear will come in and the more unbelief will come in and cause us to either go backwards in our walk or freeze us right where we are.

The only way to keep moving forward in life is to be not afraid only believe in the one true God.

Mark 5:36 (PHILLIPS) “Now don’t be afraid, just go on believing!”

Look to Him. Know Him.

 Psalm 37:3

Trust (lean on, rely on, and be confident) in the Lord and do good; so shall you dwell in the land and feed surely on His faithfulness, and truly you shall be fed.

(adhere to, trust in, and rely on the truth)

Be not afraid that my coming will be to no purpose, only believe that I will make it turn to a good account.” Therefore fear not, faint not. Faith is the only remedy against disquieting grief and fear at such a time: let that silence them, Only believe. Keep up a confidence in Christ, and a dependence upon him, and he will do what is for the best. Believe the resurrection, and then be not afraid.

Lester Sumrall – Turning on the light reveals the reality that there is nothing to fear. This is a basic principle: much of what we fear will never bother us again if we see it for what it is. God is light, and by turning to God’s Word we can see that nothing should terrorize or paralyze us. By continuing to absorb biblical truth through daily reading and study, we will walk in the light as He is in the light; and in that blessed environment fear cannot get to us.

Romans 8:28

Amplified Bible (AMP)

28 We are assured and know that [[a]God being a partner in their labor] all things work together and are [fitting into a plan] for good to and for those who love God and are called according to [His] design and purpose…

So be not afraid, Only Believe…….

1 John 4:18

There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love.

Fear divides your mind. Fear stifles your ability to think & acts as you should. It affects your decisions.  Fear enslaves you.

Heb 13:6 be content…I will never leave you forsake you….

…so I may BOLDLY say…

The Lord is my helper;

I will not fear…

What can man do to me?

Helper – a cry for help…the word describes The Lord as poised and ready to rush to the relief of His oppressed child when they shout fir His assistance.

Must change my focus from fear to the word of God.

Isaiah 41:10

Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.

This all comes down to a faith battle…

Just because you cannot change something does not mean you have to continue to fear it. He said He would continue to uphold you. He may not remove what fears you. He is your anchor. He will not be moved.

Do not believe your feelings, but the testimony of the word of God…

He will protect you and bring you through…

Many people live in the past. First they replay in their minds the good old days. They think about it over and over. They meditate on it over and over. Then that is all they talk about. “I remember when…”, It was better times back then.” They talk about it over and over. Then others look back to the bad times they had and the things that they went through. Those things that made a strong impression on their minds. Mistakes that they mad or times where someone hurt them really bad. They replay it over and over in their mind. Then they start talking negative and get depressed. People do not know how to live in today. Don’t get me wrong I believe some people have been hurt. But we do not & should not live in the past. Paul give us words to live by: Phil. 3:13-14 do not consider, brethren, that I have captured and made it my own [yet]; but one thing I do [it is my one aspiration]: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the [supreme and heavenly] prize to which God in Christ Jesus is calling us upward. He said he had not arrived to the place he was talking about, but he aspired and pressed forward to that goal. The goal of Forgetting those things behind & pressing forward to win the heavenly prize… Many times our minds get stuck in rewind mode. We must remember our past holds nothing for us. We can not change it or relive it. One of the ways of the Devil is to keep you thinking and meditating on the past. He uses fear to keep you there. Fear of rejection, fear of failure, ect… Not just fear but TERROR. Terror defined in Webster’s 1828 dictionary, “a state of intense fear, violent dread; fright, fear that agitates the body and mind”. Fear paralyzes, it keeps people from moving forward or afraid to change directions. Lets look at the disciples in Mark 6:46. Earlier Jesus had fed the multitude with some fish & bread. He told them to get in the boat and go to the other side. Then He went and prayed and had fellowship with His Father. The bible says Jesus seen that they were troubled and tormented. Then He walked on the water towards them. Then they saw Him and were agitated (troubled and filled with fear and dread)… He said take heart, “I am”! Stop being alarmed and afraid. First, when they went in the boat what were they thinking and talking about? They were not thinking or talking about what happened earlier on the land, if they would have been, fear would not have come. Jesus just fed all those people with just a little fish and some bread and had some left over, what a miracle. He told them to go to the other side, could he not get them there safe? But later in Mark it says, “…for they failed to consider or understand {the teaching} meaning of the miracle of } the loaves, [in fact] their hearts had grown callous [had become dull and lost the power of understanding]. Wow they failed to consider, they failed to remember, and they failed to ponder on what had happened earlier that day when Jesus feed the multitude. The result was fear and terror. 1 Peter 3:14 & 15 … Be not afraid of their terror, neither be troubled: But sanctify the Lord God in your hears: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear. Be not afraid of the terror, neither be troubled… BUT… sanctify the Lord God in your heart… Holman Illustrated Dictionary says: Sanctify: The idea behind the word is to stand in awe of something or someone… to reflect His Holy nature… Believers are set apart to God in conversion and they live out this dedication to God in holiness. They believe and act it out in their lives. So instead of rehearsing the problem or the terror or trouble, rehearse, reflect, and live out and reflect His nature in your hearts and lives. Hit the rewind button on His goodness, His Character, and be in awe about him. You are a new creature in Christ. Old things are pasted away, all things have become new. You are no longer what you used to be. You are different than even one minute ago. If you did something wrong, repent and He will forgive and cleanse you and then it is not longer there. Col. 2:15 Having disarmed (spoiled) principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it. (Jesus defused, shut down satan’s power through the Cross) Praise God, Rehearse that, rewind that over and over. Jesus defused and shut down satan’s power through the Cross. your faith is placed in what Jesus did at the Cross, there satan’s power is shut down in your life. You do not need to live in the condemnation and fear of the past. Lets look at some things to ponder and meditate on. Gen. 9:16 … Remember the everlasting covenant between God and every living creature… Deut. 8:1,18 : 16:3,12 Remember what the Lord has done, where He has brought you through, and where He has brought you from. 1 Chron. 16:12 Remember His marvelous works and His wonders… Ps. 63:6 Remember Him and meditate on Him day and night. Like David in Ps. 9:1 I will Praise you, OH Lord, with my whole heart: I will show forth (recount & tell aloud) all your marvelous works and wonderful deeds! Ps. 16:7-11 I will bless the Lord, who has given me counsel. Yes, my heart instructs me in the night season. I have set the Lord continually before me, because He is at my right hand, I shall not be moved. Ps 18:33 He makes my feet like hinds feet [able to stand firmly or make progress on the dangerous heights of testing & trouble]: He sets me securely upon my high places. Eph. 4:23 … be renewed in the spirit of your mind. You are no longer a slave of your past or your former way of life!! There are so many scriptures that we can meditate on. Phil. 4:8-9 8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. 9 Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you. Fix your mind on these things… Practice & model your way of living on it… Forgetting those things behind, pressing forward, fix your mind on the Cross and your Faith in the Cross will produce: Phil. 4:13 I have strength for all things in Christ Who empowers me [I am ready for anything and equal to anything through Him Who infuses inner strength into me; I am self-sufficient in Christ’s sufficiency]. So live today, do not look back or meditate on the past. Cover it with the Cross. Only Hit the rewind button on His goodness, His word, and sanctify your heart unto Him. This must be done daily. When satan tries to bring things up, tell him that is under the blood. Then tell him, My God… My stregth…My savior…My Redeemer…My Sheild…MyBuckler…My Shepherd…My Light…My Righteousness…My Salvation…My Deliverer …My Refuge…My Lord…My God…, My Great Physician …is in me. Greater is He that is in me, than He that is in the world. Satan the blood of Jesus is against you. Praise God be set free from the bondage of Fear and Terror!!!!!!

1) Recognize fear:

Recognize that fear is not of God.

John 10:10 The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it overflows).

Jesus came that we would have life. Fear causes people not to live. People who fear are paralyzed by it. They can’t do what God has called them to do. It causes people to look inward.

Recognize if you are stopped by a force of terror or fear. Fear has symptoms. Some are panic, worry, anxiety, heart rate increases, and much more. These are not from God. He does not put these things on us.

If you have a fear or phobia say so. Once you recognize these fears you can become ready to receive the solution that only God can provide.

2) Resist fear

with action

James 4:7
Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

Ephesians 6:13
Therefore put on God’s complete armor, that you may be able to resist and stand your ground on the evil day [of danger], and, having done all [the crisis demands], to stand [firmly in your place].

Proverbs 28
1 THE WICKED flee when no man pursues them, but the [uncompromisingly] righteous are bold as a lion.

Be bold as a lion & stand against the fear that satan tries to put on you.

Isaiah 35:4
say to those with fearful hearts, “Be strong, do not fear; your God will come, he will come with vengeance; with divine retribution he will come to save you.”

Never give up! Have the spirit to fight back. Don’t yield to your fears. Don’t give up hope of victory.

3) Fight fear with the word

The living word, what does the bible say?

The word says a lot about fear. Fear not is in the bible in many places, at least 100 times from Gen. to Rev.

God spoke to Abraham and said, “Fear not” (Gen. 15:1).

God spoke to the children of Israel and said, “Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord” (Ex. 14:13).

The great patriarch David said, “Though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil” (Ps. 23:4).

Here are just twelve of the precious promises you can use in gaining victory over fear:

“For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind” (2 Tim. 1:7).

“Ye shall not be afraid of the face of man; for the judgment is God’s” (Deut. 1:17).

“Fear not, nor be dismayed, be strong and of good courage” (Josh. 10:25).

“Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and not be afraid: for the LORD JEHOVAH is my strength and my song; He also is become my salvation” (Is. 12:2)

“O man greatly beloved, fear not: peace be unto thee, be strong, yea, be strong” (Dan. 10:19).

“For He shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways” (Ps. 91:11).

“God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear” (Ps. 46:1,2).

“I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee” (Heb. 13:5).

“The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me” (Heb. 13:6).

“Fear ye not therefore, ye are of more value than many sparrows” (Mt. 10:31).

“Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee” (Is. 26:3).

“Fear ye not the reproach of men, neither be ye afraid of their revilings” (Is. 51:7).

4) Fight fear with prayer

a heart to heart talk with God

Like David:
Psalm 64:1 Hear my voice, O God, in my prayer: preserve my life from fear of the enemy.

Dan. 9:3 And I set my face unto the Lord God, to seek by prayer and supplications, with fasting, and sackcloth, and ashes:

Phl. 4:6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.

Rom 12:12 Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer…

5) Put your faith in Jesus and what He did at the Cross for you.

Jn. 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

1 Jn. 3:8 He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.

Jn. 10:10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have [it] more abundantly.

Jn. 20:31 But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name.

Fear is no respect of no one! We all face it at one time or another, but how we handle it is the question.

When you honestly do your part to conquer fear, God will work through the Holy Spirit to do the rest.

Prov. 3:7 Be not wise in your own eyes; reverently fear and worship the Lord and turn [entirely] away from evil.

The fear of the Lord is not like the fear that comes from something we are afraid of. Like the fear of heights, spiders, etc….(not a phobia) That kind of fear has torment. (2 Tim. 1:7, 1 Jn. 4:18, Prov. 29:25)

The fear of the Lord is to be in awe, reverence, wonder, respect…

We must recognize and respect His authority, His majesty, & His power.

When you respect someone you give them your time & resources, more than respect when you are in awe of someone you would do anything for them.

The Fear of the Lord produces blessings:

Continual spiritual cleansing – Ps. 19:9

Life & many good days – Ps. 34:11-12

A blessed & happy family -Ps. 128

Freedom from all evil fears – Prov. 14:26

A place of security – Prov. 14:26

Deliverance from satanic snares –

abiding satisfaction – Ps. 19:23

Preservation from the visitation of evil – Prov. 19:23

Riches & honor – Prov. 22:4

A hope that extends beyond the grave

No wan to those who fear God – Ps. 34:9

Wisdom – Ps. 111:10, Job. 28:28, Prov. 9:10

Knowledge – Prov. 1:7

Long life – Prov. 10:27

The God kind of fear produces us doing God’s will – Like 22:42. Ps. 111:10

Proverbs 2:1-5

1 MY SON, if you will receive my words and treasure up my commandments within you,

    2 Making your ear attentive to skillful and godly Wisdom and inclining and directing your heart and mind to understanding [applying all your powers to the quest for it];

3 Yes, if you cry out for insight and raise your voice for understanding,

4 If you seek [Wisdom] as for silver and search for skillful and godly Wisdom as for hidden treasures,

5 Then you will understand the reverent and worshipful fear of the Lord and find the knowledge of [our omniscient] God.

Is. 33:6 The fear of the Lord is our treasure.

If you had a treasure what would you do to protect it? Remember the devil goes around seeking whom he may devourer. He does not like that you are in awe of God. He wants you to fear him. Doing something out of that kind of fear is bondage. The God kind of fear does not produce bondage.

We must be in awe of God’s majesty, His Power, remembering who He is. He is all-knowing, all powerful, Holy, pure, & much more. He made heaven and earth. He is the Almighty. He is Holy. We must remember who we are and who he is.

We must remember just because we have problems in our lives does not mean we do not fear God. This is a fallen world. Sometimes we experience things because of our sin or someone else’s. Sometimes it is satan & sometimes it is just because we are in a fallen world. This is why we need to walk by faith and not by sight. 2 Corn. 5:7 We will experience total deliverance when Jesus comes for His people.

Don’t get me wrong we can experience these blessings in this life & that is one of the reasons that Jesus came, so we could have life & life more abundantly. But mostly so we could be reconciled to God. God wants fellowship with us. We need to humble ourselves & look to Him totally for our daily needs. He is God and we are not.

This world looks at blessings & success not as GOd does. we must humble ourselves and bend our knees in wonder & awe of Him. Then we will have true success & blessings. You might be in a pit like Joseph was, but he was right where God wanted him. Soon he was taken to the place where he was able to save many by God’s wisdom & blessings. What I am saying is don’t look at your circumstances to determine if you are blessed. You are blessed as you surrender yourself to the Almighty God. In the Fear of the Lord you will be right where God wants you to be.

In wonder, in awe, in  reverence, in total surrender only. Fear no man, fear nothing.

The Bible gives a lot of warning about the last days deception. But we are not to fear it. First, fear causes torment. Fear paralyzes you from doing what God has called you to do.

Lets look at what the bible says about deception.

Matt 24:4-5    4 Jesus answered them, Be careful that no one misleads you [deceiving you and leading you into error].

5 For many will come in (on the strength of) My name [[b]appropriating the name which belongs to Me], saying, I am the Christ (the Messiah), and they will lead many astray.

1 Timothy 4:1 But the Spirit says clearly that in later times some will be turned away from the faith, giving their minds to spirits of deceit, and the teachings of evil spirits,  (BBE NAS RSV)

2 Timothy 3:13 Evil and false men will become worse and worse, using deceit and themselves overcome by deceit.  (BBE)

2 John 1:7 For many deceivers have gone out into the world, those who don’t confess that Jesus Christ came in the flesh. This is the deceiver and the Antichrist.  (WEB KJV WEY ASV DBY WBS NAS RSV NIV)

Luke 21:8 And he said, Take heed that ye be not deceived: for many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and the time draweth near: go ye not therefore after them.  (KJV WBS NIV)

1 Corinthians 15:33 Don’t be deceived! “Evil companionships corrupt good morals.”  (WEB KJV ASV DBY WBS NAS RSV)

James 1:16 Don’t be deceived, my beloved brothers.  (WEB WEY ASV NAS RSV NIV)

Hebrews 3:12 Take care, brethren, that there not be in any one of you an evil, unbelieving heart that falls away from the living God. (NASB ©1995)

Colossians 2:8 See that no one shall be carrying you away as spoil through the philosophy and vain deceit, according to the deliverance of men, according to the rudiments of the world, and not according to Christ,

There are many, many more scriptures.

We are not to fear!

Psalms 49:5 Why should I fear in the days of evil, when iniquity at my heels surrounds me?  (See NIV)

In the last days there will be so many things that will try to put us in to bondage. That will try to pull us away from the one true God. We need to be on guard and have wisdom. Part of being not deceived has to do with growing up. God wants us to grow up in Him. As children we can be tossed to and fro, but as we learn God’s word and grow in the knowledge of the truth we will not be deceived. Many people are deceived because they refuse to grow up. They only want the milk of the word and do not want the meat of the word.

1 Corinthians 3:2

I have fed you with milk, and not with meat: for hitherto ye were not able to bear it, neither yet now are ye able.

Hebrews 5:12

For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat.

We need to grow up then we can teach and help others come to the knowledge of Jesus.

Lets look at some ways to not be deceived.

1) Look unto Jesus

We must put our faith in what Jesus did for us at Calvary and keep our eyes on Him. When we keep our eyes on Jesus we will see the truth and not be deceived.

Hebrews 12:2

Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Jude 1:21

Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.

Romans 5:1

Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:

2) Test the spirits

A spirit is behind every teaching. There are many false prophets out there, false teachers, & deceivers. We do not have to fall for everything that comes our way. So many are being deceived because they just except what is out there.

1 John 4

1 BELOVED, DO not put faith in every spirit, but prove (test) the spirits to discover whether they proceed from God; for many false prophets have gone forth into the world.

    2 By this you may know (perceive and recognize) the Spirit of God: every spirit which acknowledges and confesses [the fact] that Jesus Christ (the Messiah) [actually] has become man and has come in the flesh is of God [has God for its source];

3 And every spirit which does not acknowledge and confess that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh [but would [a]annul, destroy, [b]sever, disunite Him] is not of God [does not proceed from Him]. This [[c]nonconfession] is the [spirit] of the antichrist, [of] which you heard that it was coming, and now it is already in the world.

4 Little children, you are of God [you belong to Him] and have [already] defeated and overcome them [the agents of the antichrist], because He Who lives in you is greater (mightier) than he who is in the world.

3) Be in the Word

We will fall for many things if we do not know what God says about things. People do not know the word and just except what ever their pastor or minister says. But we are to seek God and His word on our own. We are to have a personal relationship with Him.

2 Timothy 2:15

Study and be eager and do your utmost to present yourself to God approved (tested by trial), a workman who has no cause to be ashamed, correctly analyzing and accurately dividing [rightly handling and skillfully teaching] the Word of Truth.(AMP)

Mark 4:24

And He said to them, Be careful what you are hearing. The measure [of thought and study] you give [to the truth you hear] will be the measure [of virtue and knowledge] that comes back to you–and more [besides] will be given to you who hear.(AMP)

Romans 10:17

So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

4) Ask for wisdom

Proverbs 2

1 MY SON, if you will receive my words and treasure up my commandments within you,

    2 Making your ear attentive to skillful and godly [a]Wisdom and inclining and directing your heart and mind to understanding [applying all your powers to the quest for it];

3 Yes, if you cry out for insight and raise your voice for understanding,

4 If you seek [Wisdom] as for silver and search for skillful and godly Wisdom as for hidden treasures,

5 Then you will understand the reverent and worshipful fear of the Lord and find the knowledge of [our omniscient] God.(A)

6 For the Lord gives skillful and godly Wisdom; from His mouth come knowledge and understanding.

Proverbs 17:24A man of understanding sets skillful and godly Wisdom before his face, but the eyes of a [self-confident] fool are on the ends of the earth.

Proverbs 1:7

The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.

James 1:5

If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.

5) Avoid those who teach false doctrine

1 John 4:1

Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.

2 Peter 2:1

But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.

Galatians 2:4

And that because of false brethren unawares brought in, who came in privily to spy out our liberty which we have in Christ Jesus, that they might bring us into bondage: (False brethren’s goal is to bring us into bondage)

Mark 13:22

For false Christs and false prophets shall rise, and shall shew signs and wonders, to seduce, if it were possible, even the elect.

We do not need to fear the last days deception. The bible is clear that it will come. If we place our faith in what Jesus did, we have the help of the Holy Spirit and He will not let us be deceived. We must be in the word and ask God for help at all times. If we do this we will not be deceived, but we will be able to help others see the ways of the false prophets and be saved from sure destruction. So remember there will be a lot of deception in the last days, but you do not need to fear it, YOU ARE A CHILD OF GOD!! TRUST GOD ONLY! BE IN HIS WORD! KEEP YOUR SPIRITUAL EYES OPEN TO JESUS ONLY!

There are many types of Fear. There are over 180 different types of Fear.

Fear of People, Fear of death, Fear of the unknown, Fear of the future, fear of the past, fear of going crazy, fear of loss, fear of failure, and much, much more.

The origin of fear is the same, satan. The results of fear can be many different things. Fear is so big in these las days that many will not have the courage to continue. Many will even commit suicide. The bible says in Luke 21:26 that men’s hearts will fail them for fear.  So weather that means they will commit suicide or their heart will stop beating, the results of fear are the same. SOMEONE WHO DOES NOT MAKE IT TO THE END. (The bible says those who endure to the end shall be saved.

Fear is an emotional response to threats and danger. Fear is often related with pain, you may have fallen in the past, so you are afraid of heights. Or you were hurt by someone or something, so now you are afraid of things and people.

Research shows that people can get sick from fear. They even say that death can come from fear. Even healthy people have been known to be “scared to death”.  Fear often starts out a being concerned about something and can grow into where you are so afraid even to move. Your heart starts racing and you become sick. You can become fatigued and experience many physical symptoms in your body because of fear.

People see all the things that are going on in the earth and that fear will overcome them if they submit to it. Luke 21:9 says that people will hear (the other verse said see or looking) & they will fear, but if tells us not to become alarmed & panic stricken & terrified: for all these things must take place first…

For Christians we should have great joy because we know that Jesus will be coming soon to take us home. So rather than being terrified of what is happening in the world, we should confidently & joyfully await the return of Christ.

Next, another result of fear is bondage.

Rom. 8:15 For [the Spirit which] you have now received [is] not a spirit of slavery to put you once more in bondage to fear, but you have received the Spirit of adoption [the Spirit producing sonship] in [the bliss of] which we cry, Abba (Father)! Father!

People are slaves to fear. They even serve fear. There are people who can’t even move or do what they want because fear has such a hold on them, they can only move as fear moves them. Fear imprisons, fear paralyzes, and much more.

Fear has torment.

1 John 4:18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.

Fear respects no one. Many people from all walks of life live in fear. Fear strikes the mind and holds it captive so you will not be effective for God or man. Fear can paralyze someone so much that they will not do the things God has planned for them. Fear breaks communion with God. A fearful person cannot live in the presence of God. And that is satan’s ultimate goal, is to get you so fearful that you will not be with, experience, or even turn to God at any moment in time.

Men in the bible had results of fear, but they knew if they turned to God, they would be set free. See here that it made him suffer in his body.

Isaiah 21:3-5

3 Therefore are my loins filled with pain: pangs have taken hold upon me, as the pangs of a woman that travaileth: I was bowed down at the hearing of it; I was dismayed at the seeing of it.

4 My heart panted, fearfulness affrighted me: the night of my pleasure hath he turned into fear unto me.

Fear NOT, for I am with thee:

Isaiah 35:4

Say to them that are of a fearful heart, Be strong, fear not: behold, your God will come with vengeance, even God with a recompense; he will come and save you.

Isaiah 41:10

Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.

Isaiah 41:13

For I the LORD thy God will hold thy right hand, saying unto thee, Fear not; I will help thee.

Isaiah 43:1

But now thus saith the LORD that created thee, O Jacob, and he that formed thee, O Israel, Fear not: for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by thy name; thou art mine.

Isaiah 43:5

Fear not: for I am with thee…

Isaiah 44:8

Fear ye not, neither be afraid: have not I told thee from that time, and have declared it? ye are even my witnesses. Is there a God beside me? yea, there is no God; I know not any.

We will talk more at another time what our response to fear should be, but just remember that Fear is a Spirit, it is from Satan, & God does not give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind. He wants you to walk with Him without any hindrances. He wants you free. That is why Jesus came. Without Jesus you do not have any hope.

Ephesians 2:12

That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world…

So do not act like you are like those without hope. You have the one who created the world behind you and in you. He is your strength! He is your hope! He will not leave you, not forsake you!! Look to Him!! Be FREE!!
